For decades, Dr. Thomas J. Kinne has been traveling all over the globe, crossing countries and continents at the steering wheel of a car, and he has worked in the tourism industry for tourism offices, marketing agencies, and renowned publishers of travel literature. From Sweden to South Africa, from Hawai‘i to the Seychelles, “TJK” is familiar with the territory, knows people, and understands their mentality – and their languages. He has written, edited, and translated travel literature, and he has also worked on English language versions of travel-related television programs. One of the most ambitious book projects he was involved in was the three-volume edition of National Geographic: Around the World in 125 Years with nearly 1,500 pages and the companion volume, National Geographic: The United States of America with nearly 1,000 pages, published by TASCHEN.
